13.12.2016 UK Maintance - Summer update is coming
There’s a brand new elixir in the Crown Shop for players who already have a level 50+ Wizard on their account. The Level 50 Elixir allows you to head straight to Celestia and start your adventures in the second story arc of Wizard101! :
Instantly be granted level 50 on one character.
All main quests up to and including Dragonspyre will be completed.
All trained spells of the Wizard’s school through level 50 will be added to their spell book. (Note: You’ll still want to add spells from your spell book to your deck before charging into combat!)
A new set of level-appropriate gear, a mount and a pet will be awarded to the character.
Additional training points will be added to the character
The access pass for the Survey Camp, Celesta Base Camp, and the Grotto is awarded to your account if you did not already own it.
A new quest will be added to your quest log: Visit Merle Ambrose to begin your new adventures!
How do I qualify?
You must already have a Level 50+ Wizard on your account The Level 50 Elixir can only be applied to a Wizard character under Level 50
NOTE: Purchasing a Level 50 Elixir from the Crown Shop cannot be undone, and you will not be able to change your decision or refund this action. All sales of this elixir are final.
Streamlined Quests in Mid-Levels
Excited to buy a new level 50 elixir, but not so much the difficult quests in Celestia and Zafaria? Fear not! We’ve rebalanced the defeat and collect quests in both zones and made things a lot less “grindy” for you. The Greyhorn Mercenaries and Fire Lion Ravagers are already thanking us behind the scenes.
Tournaments for Gold and PvP Changes!
The fee for entering PvP tournaments has been changed from Crowns to Gold for members! We saw how much everyone loved our free tournament member benefit and knew we had to find a way to extend this opportunity permanently for our members. Enjoy!
If you like to enter tournaments for rewards, also know that we’ve added a Second Chance “roll again” button where you can pay an incrementing amount of Crowns for more attempts at loot after your tournament. There’s also a new lower tier of cosmetic (Defender, Guardian, Protector, and Challenger) tournament armor for stitching.
We heard your requests for change, and now critical hits will be less painful in PvP. Where a Critical hit still does double damage in PvE, it will now only do 1.25 times more damage in PvP. For example, a critical hit from a 100 damage spell will now do 125 damage in PvP and 200 damage in PvE.
If you’ve been intimidated by onlookers in PvP before, there’s now an option to block both text chat and menu chat from other players who are watching your matches.
The Talos spell card from the Crabling pet is now flagged No PVP, and the Battle Cherub’s Guardian Spirit spell card is now flagged No PvP.
Librarian Fitzhume in the Arcanum has a new quest for high level players who would like to train in Astral Magic. Fitzhume will escort you quickly over to Qyburn Stellargaze who will introduce himself and offer you a plethora of new spells. Get ready to make your damage spells much more “Epic”!
Are you ready for some new interface changes? We’ve been listening to your feedback, and have some great changes for you:
First, we’ve made a lot of changes to the Friend’s List so it’s now larger, easier to use, and contains more information. To access your new friend list features, click the “More Friends” button from within the friends list. Click “Less Friends” to return to your basic friends list.
Here are a few highlights of your new interface:
Shows your friends’ full names instead of abbreviations.
Displays the full body of your selected friends.
Displays the school and level of all friends.
Has new sorting options.
Has more information on why you can or can’t click on buttons.
Displays friendship date (the day the players became friends)
Displays how long it’s been since your friend was online last: Recent (within 7 days), Active (3 months), and Dormant (longer than 3 months).
Displays a count of how many friends you have and how many more you can have.
There’s also a new option to alert you when your friends come online (as long as they’re not hidden to friends). You can turn this on or off in your options interface.
Second, it’s been an often requested feature that players be able to see a list of all the charms, wards, and other effects that are applied to their characters during combat. We’re happy to now provide you with this feature! Roll your mouse over your character label while in combat and you’ll see a complete list.
Third, you’ll now notice a new option to the side of your chat window which will allow you to darken the transparency of your chat window background to provide more contrast so you can see text more easily in areas where white text is difficult to read. And there’s also a brand new option to make chat much larger in the chat window! See your options interface to try out this new feature.
Finally, we’ve made some polish changes that should ease some minor irritations:
The Quick Sell button now turns into a Quick Trash button when you’re at the Gold Cap. When at the character select screen, your character will now show which home they last left from instead of “home.” The display no longer becomes unclickable when you successfully craft an item. Removed the very faint lines that showed up on the upper right and lower right of the player’s spell book. Removed the extra text space at the bottom of the gardening needs information box. Gardening treasure cards now show a quantity next to them when viewing them from your Gardening interface. Made several other minor cosmetic changes to the User Interface.
We have two new experience increasing updates for Fishing! First, Ryoshi in the Jade Palace of MooShu has two brand new fishing quests for you!
Note: You must have completed the quest “New Fishing Buddy” from Grizzleheim to begin Ryoshi’s quests. Ryoshi also has a couple of new winnow fishing spells that will make isolating those prized catches a bit easier.
Second, new Doodlefish have arrived in your favorite magic-school-themed houses of Wizard101. Take a housing tour and add them all to your collection. Can you catch all these new exclusive and elusive fish?
We also made a few smaller changes and fixes to fishing:
Fish will no longer swim far beyond areas you are able to reach in the Serpentine Escape.
Fish in the Amber Estate will no longer swim onto objects near the house’s lake.
The Epic Boss Hog fish are now more difficult to catch in Zafaria.
The Cold Cod isn’t marked as a holiday fish – only a winter fish.

Brandon has a brand new quest, “Trial by Dragon’s Fire,” for those Wizards who have completed the quest “Into the Bleaks.” Brandon will also be able to help you on your journey through a minion spell, and you’ll even be getting a free treasure card with the Brandon spell right when you first accept the quest. If you like to hunt for cool gear, don’t miss the new Dragonborn Helms you have a chance to get from repeating this awesome boss fight!
Thanks for visiting with us, Brandon, and thanks for playing Wizard101! You helped us design a really cool fight that everyone is going to love . . . but watch out! This boss fight was designed by a pro player and is tuned to accommodate a full party of four players.
Daily quest rewards now show in the chat window when they are received, and Daily Assignment quest text now appears in the chat window after talking to Aegon Statz or checking the Gravulum Lodestone.
Gravulum Lodestones are now available for purchase from Albert QuickHammer.
Midnighters won’t appear as a target for Daily Quests in the future.
Checking a Daily Assignment very early in the morning will no longer show a million plus hours to complete it.
The Sound Team has been hard at work making a lot of great changes and continues to make Wizard101 sound better every day! Here’s a few of the notable changes:
Mount sound effects and mount movements are now more in sync.
Sohomer Sublade has had a vocal cord adjustment.
The Moon Flower Plant has a new sound associated with it.
High level players will notice Bartleby moans a little less frequently.
The Royal Playhouse no longer plays the Wizard City Commons Music when you enter it the first time.
Have you visited the school towers in Ravenwood lately? Now’s a good time to hold a new party there as the sound inside has had a polish pass.
Fixed minor voice over and text mismatches.

Spell cards for Shadow Creatures now have an icon and description to show what spells the creature likes.
The Myth Leprechaun spell now does 90 Myth damage and lowers threat correctly without removing global spells.
Added the Storm School Icon to the Supercharge spell text.
There are now three new badges for hatching pets! Can you earn your Hatching Master badge for hatching 100 pets? Game on!
We’ve created new rules for the Team Up Button so we can limit low level people joining high level encounters.

Enter the Vast Expanses of Mirage!
Step into Mirage, a world of shifting sands and shifting allegiances, where ancient treasures and ancient dangers were buried in the hope they might never again see the light of day.
Explore vast dune deserts punctuated by treacherous canyons and jungle rifts where the ancient House Qhats have retreated into their garden sanctuaries, abandoning the Dromel nomads to the wastes above and the ravages of the Winds of Change.
Walk the streets of Aggrobah, the so-called City of Thieves, where a charming but ineffective King has allowed crime lords like the notorious Ali Baboon to run amok.
Negotiate with mysterious Djinn to build an alliance between the world’s warring factions.
Battle alongside the ancient order of the Chronomancers who maintain the sacred Sands of Time.
Meet a cast of eccentric characters. Join them, and your friends, to expose the machinations of Grandfather Spider and his shadowy minions before their dark schemes lead to a catastrophic conclusion.
Players who have reached level 110 and have completed the Polaris quest “Back to the Arcanum” need to visit Librarian Fitzhume to take on the quest “Post-Polaris Prognosis.”
Those who have completed the required quest will have the badge “Defender of Land & Sky” in the Polaris tab of the Badges screen.
For Crowns players, Mirage contains 6 separate Premium Zones, priced at 1995c each.
Time to be a “Champion” Wizard at Level 120!
New heights of power, bonuses, abilities, and opportunity await your characters as they adventure through Mirage:
Training Points will be awarded at level 115 and 120, plus there will be bonus Training Points available through quests in Mirage.
With increased levels also comes increased Gold! For Wizards level 111-120 the maximum gold is now 475,000.
Along with a level increase also comes new level 120 henchmen in the Crown Shop! Please open up the Crown Shop and give these mirage-themed henchmen a try.
Grandmaster Socket Wrenches are now available for unlocking the jewel slots in the new gear you’ll be finding in Mirage.
Players who complete the quest “Trial of the Understudy” will also find they have a brand new apartment in the Arcanum! When you receive this elegant two-tiered apartment, an additional castle elixir is automatically applied to your account, so you can equip it from your backpack even if you already have 3 castles.
Brandon MistBorn offers new level 120 PvP equipment and jewels.
Prefect Josapat in Mirage offers treasure cards to those who visit his shop.
*Please remember, when you were at the previous level maximum of 110 no experience was rewarded for duels and quests completed once you reached level 110. When a player reaches the maximum level, their experience bar disappears, indicating they are not gaining experience from their duels or quests. No experience is rewarded to those who are at the maximum level, which means that everyone who was level 110 before we raised the level cap will be level 110 to start. Now that we have raised the level cap, you can once again start earning new experience points from your adventures.
Divide and Conquer with new Level 118 Spells
The Arcanum Scholars are ready to bring new power to your spell books once you reach level 118. They’ll have a new spell quest for all Wizards who reach level 118 and complete the quest “History of the Cabal.”
All of these Level 118 spells feature a new mechanic where you “divide” you
r damage among the number of targets you chose. After selecting the spell, you then select each target you would like the spell to hit. Your choice: 1, 2, 3, or 4 targets!
Legendary Weapons
If you’ve completed the quest “Gemstone Secrets” from Polaris and “Stop! HammerTail” from Khrysalis and are currently a Promethean Crafter, you’ll gain a new quest from Librarian Fitzhume to discuss the Forge of Legends in the Arcanum with Ignus Ferric. Ignus will then sell you recipes so you can begin crafting Legendary Weapons.
Earn Respect with Faction Vendors
There are new “faction” vendors in Mirage. This is a new type of vendor who only sells you items when you unlock a special badge associated with them. When you encounter these vendors throughout Mirage, do not be surprised when they offer you a quest to get you started. Unique (and hard-earned) treasures can be purchased from them when you earn a faction vendor’s respect! You can even purchase a new apartment from a faction vendor. The apartment exits to your faction’s area of Mirage. (Remember, unlike your dorm room or Arcanum apartment, you will need to purchase an additional Castle Elixir if your housing limit is at max and you would like to purchase a new apartment from your faction’s vendor.)
No Spoilers!
Not so fast, Wizard! During the first part of your time on Test Realm we’ll be hiding the final encounter of Mirage . . . until the time is just right. Until then, NO SPOILERS!
Castle Magic!
Take your Castle to an all new level of complexity and fun with Castle Magic! To begin, locate Babbage Basset in Regent’s Square of Marleybone and take his new quest, “Strange Charms.” Basset will give you a “Castle Magic Help Tome” that you can place in your house. (NOTE: later in the Test Realm the quest involving the Help Tome will be more interactive, but for now, you’ll need to go through the tome manually to learn more about this new system.)
Once you’re well trained with the Castle Magic system, Babbage will sell you special “castle magic” items and treasure cards so you can turn your castle into a unique experience your guests have never seen before.
Now you’ll be able to make items move, appear, animate, and react to your visitor’s actions and locations. You’ll even be able to build simple puzzles similar to those found in the early dungeons of Wizard101! We can’t wait to see your creations.
Save and Convert Pips with “Pip Conversion”
here’s an all new statistic in Wizard101 that can be found on Decks, Amulets and Wands in Mirage. Introducing Pip Conversion! This passive statistic can turn single pips into power pips and even occasionally give you a pip back.
First, with Pip Conversion, casting any spell that uses more pip value than the actual pip cost (for example, a Phoenix spell that costs 5 pips and uses 3 power pips when cast), the Pip Conversion stat will occasionally refund you a single pip back. The higher your Pip Conversion statistic, the higher your chance is for this to happen.
Second, when all seven pip slots are full and some of your pips are single pips instead of power pips, the Pip Conversion stat will occasionally turn one of your white pips into a yellow power pip at the start of the planning phase. Players who have reached level 110 and have completed the Polaris quest “Back to the Arcanum” need to visit Librarian Fitzhume to take on the quest “Post-Polaris Prognosis.”
Those who have completed the required quest will have the badge “Defender of Land & Sky” in the Polaris tab of the Badges screen.
For Crowns players, Mirage contains 6 separate Premium Zones, priced at 1995c each.
Time to be a “Champion” Wizard at Level 120!
New heights of power, bonuses, abilities, and opportunity await your characters as they adventure through Mirage:
Training Points will be awarded at level 115 and 120, plus there will be bonus Training Points available through quests in Mirage.
With increased levels also comes increased Gold! For Wizards level 111-120 the maximum gold is now 475,000.
Along with a level increase also comes new level 120 henchmen in the Crown Shop! Please open up the Crown Shop and give these mirage-themed henchmen a try.
Grandmaster Socket Wrenches are now available for unlocking the jewel slots in the new gear you’ll be finding in Mirage.
Players who complete the quest “Trial of the Understudy” will also find they have a brand new apartment in the Arcanum! When you receive this elegant two-tiered apartment, an additional castle elixir is automatically applied to your account, so you can equip it from your backpack even if you already have 3 castles.
Brandon MistBorn offers new level 120 PvP equipment and jewels.
Prefect Josapat in Mirage offers treasure cards to those who visit his shop.
*Please remember, when you were at the previous level maximum of 110 no experience was rewarded for duels and quests completed once you reached level 110. When a player reaches the maximum level, their experience bar disappears, indicating they are not gaining experience from their duels or quests. No experience is rewarded to those who are at the maximum level, which means that everyone who was level 110 before we raised the level cap will be level 110 to start. Now that we have raised the level cap, you can once again start earning new experience points from your adventures.
Divide and Conquer with new Level 118 Spells
The Arcanum Scholars are ready to bring new power to your spell books once you reach level 118. They’ll have a new spell quest for all Wizards who reach level 118 and complete the quest “History of the Cabal.”
All of these Level 118 spells feature a new mechanic where you “divide” you
r damage among the number of targets you chose. After selecting the spell, you then select each target you would like the spell to hit. Your choice: 1, 2, 3, or 4 targets!
Legendary Weapons
If you’ve completed the quest “Gemstone Secrets” from Polaris and “Stop! HammerTail” from Khrysalis and are currently a Promethean Crafter, you’ll gain a new quest from Librarian Fitzhume to discuss the Forge of Legends in the Arcanum with Ignus Ferric. Ignus will then sell you recipes so you can begin crafting Legendary Weapons.
Earn Respect with Faction Vendors
There are new “faction” vendors in Mirage. This is a new type of vendor who only sells you items when you unlock a special badge associated with them. When you encounter these vendors throughout Mirage, do not be surprised when they offer you a quest to get you started. Unique (and hard-earned) treasures can be purchased from them when you earn a faction vendor’s respect! You can even purchase a new apartment from a faction vendor. The apartment exits to your faction’s area of Mirage. (Remember, unlike your dorm room or Arcanum apartment, you will need to purchase an additional Castle Elixir if your housing limit is at max and you would like to purchase a new apartment from your faction’s vendor.)

Castle Magic!
Take your Castle to an all new level of complexity and fun with Castle Magic! To begin, locate Babbage Basset in Regent’s Square of Marleybone and take his new quest, “Strange Charms.” Basset will give you a “Castle Magic Help Tome” that you can place in your house. (NOTE: later in the Test Realm the quest involving the Help Tome will be more interactive, but for now, you’ll need to go through the tome manually to learn more about this new system.)
Once you’re well trained with the Castle Magic system, Babbage will sell you special “castle magic” items and treasure cards so you can turn your castle into a unique experience your guests have never seen before.
Now you’ll be able to make items move, appear, animate, and react to your visitor’s actions and locations. You’ll even be able to build simple puzzles similar to those found in the early dungeons of Wizard101! We can’t wait to see your creations.
Save and Convert Pips with “Pip Conversion”
here’s an all new statistic in Wizard101 that can be found on Decks, Amulets and Wands in Mirage. Introducing Pip Conversion! This passive statistic can turn single pips into power pips and even occasionally give you a pip back.
First, with Pip Conversion, casting any spell that uses more pip value than the actual pip cost (for example, a Phoenix spell that costs 5 pips and uses 3 power pips when cast), the Pip Conversion stat will occasionally refund you a single pip back. The higher your Pip Conversion statistic, the higher your chance is for this to happen.
Second, when all seven pip slots are full and some of your pips are single pips instead of power pips, the Pip Conversion stat will occasionally turn one of your white pips into a yellow power pip at the start of the planning phase. Incoming 2 new bundles on USA

2 new bundles are on them way to GameStop - Shinobi and Mirage bundles. I have waited one week with hope someone will find them and post video or information about both bundles. I am very excited about this 2 bundles, that is why I decided share the news will all of you who do not know about the bundles. The rumors are that Shinobi bundle is Moshoo styled bundle with ninja outfit and mount which looks like the leviatan pets. Shinobi bundle should offer us a new dungeon as house item. Puzzling Apparitions
You can expect a brand spanking new update containing lots of exciting content on 28th of September.
In Ravenwood you’ll bump into Aegon Statz who is in desperate need of your help with his research on micro magic particles. Give him a hand in his scientific, and really quite dangerous, investigation of the so-called Pekrons and secure yourself some valuable rewards for your trouble. Are you perhaps a very accomplished wizard looking for a real challenge? Then the three new Skeleton Key Creatures are just the thing for you! They’re in their dungeons waiting for you as we speak, and they look none too friendly.
The Story of Darkmoor Manor
The Darkmoor Manor was owned by the Pawtrey family and was their pride and joy for generations. But Lord Purnitius Pawtrey was negligent and squandered the entire family fortune. The property had to be auctioned off so that his debts could be paid. In the end, the Lord was left with only a few objects to bequeath to his family. His descendants, Elizabeth, Francis, Andrew and Lady Delores, were so indignant about this, that they could find no rest after their deaths. Since that time they have haunted Darkmoor as ghosts and still grieve their missing inheritance today.
If you should meet these ghostly apparitions in the near future, however, you won’t need to give them a wide berth. They might even be kind enough to show you the Sarcophagus of Lord Pawtrey. It’s not like they have a use for the objects inside any more.

If you’re worried about your next big fight in a dungeon, don’t be – these tips on how to defeat boss enemies will help you out: In most dungeons you will encounter very powerful enemies that can make your life quite difficult. For this reason it is a good idea to sort your cards before you even enter. If you know your opponent’s weaknesses, put some spell cards that counter those weaknesses into your deck. Before you go rushing off into battle, ask your friends for help. By joining forces, not only do you make each duel much easier, they’re more fun as well! To reduce your opponents’ attacks right from the start of a duel, defeat the enemy with the smallest amount of HP first (usually the boss’ assistants). Do not underestimate the effectiveness of shield and blade magic! If you use these types of spells, then you’ll be the one left standing even after the longest of duels.
